Enhancements of the 2022 Calls

We are excited to announce some major improvements to the 2022 Calls. Over the last couple of years, we have worked with our Technical Advisory Committee to consolidate and simplify the Call instructions for each line of business. The Call instructions are now less than half the length that they were before, and the organization and verbiage have been improved for clarity.

On the Calls page of our website, we are also adding a new column which has quick links to record layouts for the different Calls so members can access those more conveniently.

We will continue to work to make the statistical reporting process as simple as it can be by providing our member companies with the resources they request. These enhancements will be released in early 2022.

NISS Workshop – Save the Date!

The NISS Statistical Workshop is scheduled to be held in Indianapolis on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The workshop is a one day event that begins at 9:00 AM and ends by 4:00 PM EST. The workshop covers a range of topics, including:

  • a brief history of statistical reporting

  • terms and concepts

  • an overview of the NISS internal flow of data

  • annual statement reconciliation

  • excess loss reporting

  • resources and reporting tips

  • edit tools

  • data quality reports

  • explanation of reports sent on behalf of member companies

  • frequently found errors

It also includes a thorough walkthrough of the NISS website, including tutorials on the member-interactive features. The workshop is fairly technical in nature, and primarily directed to staff members that are involved in the details of data management and statistical reporting. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet the NISS staff. Registration information will be coming soon. We hope to see you there!

Where We’re Going and Where We’ve Been

NISS recently hosted a booth at the NAMIC Convention in September and also attended InsureTech Connect in October. It was great to be able to see people face to face again!

As long as it is safe to do so, we are planning to attend several conferences next year and look forward to seeing you all in person again soon!
