NISSUE: Responsiveness
“We still accept round reel tape”
Being responsive to our member companies may not be the easiest standard to
achieve here at NISS, nor would we expect it to be. But it is the most
rewarding. Time and again we hear positive comments from our customers when they
find they can submit their statistical reports to NISS using a medium that suits
their needs and fits our system.
We receive more reports by electronic mail than we ever envisioned three years
ago, but that is just a result of the highly productive environment we operate
in today. We receive many large reports via tape cartridge and CD-ROM. Companies
also send us reports on diskette. We have a handful of member companies who send
their reports on paper which we must key into our system. And, yes, we still
accept submissions on round reel tape (and have no plans to change).
It is so much more cost effective to have one system (NISS) be responsive to the
needs of our members than to require over 150 insurers to change their system to
be responsive to ours.
